March 21, 2026 – Dundalk, MD

CCBC Essex continued its strong run of form on Saturday, defeating CCBC Dundalk 14-2 behind a dominant fifth inning to complete the doubleheader sweep.

With the win, the Knights extend their winning streak to five games, improving to 11-2 overall and 7-1 in Region 20 play. Following Saturday's results, Essex currently sits second in the Region 20 standings and ranks among the Top 10 teams nationally in ERA in NJCAA Division II.

After a steady start, CCBC Essex broke the game open with a massive eight-run fifth inning. The rally featured contributions up and down the lineup, beginning with freshman Ethan Mosteller (Harrisburg, PA) drawing a bases-loaded walk to bring in a run.

Freshman Andy Martínez Rivera (Vega Alta, PR) and Yahil Diaz were both hit by pitches with the bases loaded, each driving in a run. Freshman Joey Rosa (Carolina, PR) followed with an RBI single, while freshman Steven Gonzalez Rodriguez (Cidra, PR) added a two-run single. Sophomore Michael Amadio (Lusby, MD) contributed a sacrifice fly, and freshman Manuel Agostini (Toa Baja, PR) capped the inning with an RBI single.

The Knights had taken an earlier lead in the third inning when Diaz singled to score a run and freshman Yariel Hernández (Moca, PR) added a two-run sacrifice fly.

On the mound, sophomore Casey Parsons (Salisbury, MD) delivered a strong outing, tossing five innings, allowing just two runs (one earned) on four hits while striking out five.

Offensively, CCBC Essex totaled 11 hits and showed patience at the plate with seven walks. Mosteller led the Knights with three RBIs from the nine spot in the lineup, while Rosa, Agostini, and Martínez Rivera each recorded two hits.

CCBC Dundalk was limited offensively, with Cassedy, Cooke, Kennedy, and Felix each collecting a hit. Cooke and Kennedy drove in the Lions'
two runs.

With momentum continuing to build, CCBC Essex will hit the road Monday for a key Region 20 matchup at Westmoreland, looking to extend its winning streak and strengthen its position in the standings.
