Caldera Powers CCBC Essex Past Prince George’s CC, 11-4

April 25, 2026 - Rosedale, MD

CCBC Essex rode a big day from Nehomar Caldera (Fr., Memphis, TN) to an 11-4 victory over Prince George's CC on Saturday at The Kingdom, improving to 30-10 on the season.

Caldera delivered the game's biggest swings, driving in four runs on two hits. The freshman outfielder crushed a two-run home run to right in the second inning to spark the Knights' offense, then came through again in the fifth with a two-run triple to break things open.

Prince George's CC struck first, capitalizing on an error in the opening inning to take a 1-0 lead, then added another in the second on a single from Fuller to go up 2-0. But Essex answered immediately.

In the bottom of the second, Caldera's two-run blast evened the score, and Diego Garcia (So., Bradenton, FL) followed with an RBI single to give the Knights their first lead at 3-2.

The Owls tied the game at three in the fourth on a sacrifice fly, but Essex responded once again. In the bottom half, Jacob Severino (Fr., Queens, NY) was hit by a pitch to spark the rally, and the Knights pushed across two runs to reclaim the lead, 5-3.

From there, Essex took control.

Yadier Henriquez Lopez (So., Harrisburg, PA) earned the win on the mound, going 4.1 innings while allowing five hits and four runs (two earned), striking out three. Steven Gonzalez Rodriguez (Fr., Cidra, PR) and Logan Castro (So., Brantford, ON) were sharp out of the bullpen, combining for scoreless relief to shut the door.

Offensively, the Knights pounded out 12 hits. Caldera, Joey Rosa (Fr., Carolina, PR)Manuel Agostini (Fr., Toa Baja, PR), and Casey Parsons (So., Salisbury, MD) each collected two hits, while Laurin Guerra Guzman (So., Santo Domingo, DR) showed discipline at the plate with two walks as Essex totaled seven free passes. The Knights also swiped three bases and turned two double plays defensively.

Prince George's CC finished with nine hits, led by Fuller, who went 2-for-2 with two RBIs from the nine spot. Scott, Fuller, and Duquette each had multi-hit performances.
