Back On Track: Rosa’s Clutch Hitting Powers CCBC Essex Past Delaware Tech

April 20, 2026 – Rosedale, MD

CCBC Essex got back on the winning track in dominant fashion Monday, rolling past Delaware Tech Baseball 2026, 10-0, in a non-region matchup at home.

Freshman Joey Rosa (Carolina, PR) led the offensive charge with a huge day at the plate, going 4-for-4 with four RBIs. Rosa set the tone early with an RBI single in the first, then broke the game open with a two-run home run to center in the fifth before adding another RBI knock in the sixth.

The Knights wasted no time getting on the board, stringing together quality at-bats in the first inning, highlighted by Rosa's run-scoring single.

They continued to apply pressure in the third, when Laurin Guerra Guzman (So., Santo Domingo, DR) lined an RBI single down the left field line, Nehomar Caldera (Fr., Memphis, TN) lifted a sacrifice fly, and Casey Parsons (So., Salisbury, MD) executed a heads-up steal of home to extend the lead.

On the mound, Joe Cuccurullo (RHP) delivered a strong outing, earning the win after tossing 5.2 scoreless innings. He allowed just two hits while striking out eight and working efficiently through traffic. Zacchaeus Artry (Fr., Memphis, TN) came out of the bullpen to finish the job and secure the shutout.

CCBC Essex totaled 10 hits on the day, with Guerra Guzman adding a multi-hit performance. The Knights were aggressive on the bases as well, swiping six bags and consistently putting pressure on Delaware Tech's defense.

With the win, CCBC Essex builds momentum heading into the quick turnaround, as the two teams are set to meet again later in the day.
