CCBC Essex Triumph Over Pro Stock Royals Academy Varsity Royals

The Knights completed the doubleheader sweep with a poised 4–2 victory over Pro Stock Royals, finishing the North Carolina trip undefeated — the first unbeaten southern swing since 2020 during the O'Connor Era.
Fast Start from a Freshman
CCBC Essex struck first in the opening inning when Marvin Rodriguez (Bronx, NY – Freshman) delivered an RBI single on an 86 MPH fastball to get the Knights on the board.
Rodriguez finished 1-for-3 and led the team with two RBIs in a confident early-season performance.
Strong on the Mound
Yadier Henriquez Lopez (Harrisburg, PA – Sophomore) earned the win, tossing three innings and allowing just one run on five hits while striking out three.
Out of the bullpen:
- Zacchaeus Artry (Memphis, TN – Freshman) delivered key relief innings to stabilize the middle frames.
- Sebastyen Perez (Woodbridge, VA – Freshman) shut the door to secure the save and complete the sweep.
Three freshmen playing major roles in a road sweep — a strong sign for 2026.

The Knights applied pressure throughout:

Joey Rosa (Carolina, PR – Freshman) was outstanding, going 3-for-3 to lead Essex in hits.

Essex pitching depth, disciplined at-bats, and clean defense sealed the 4–2 win and a 2–0 opening weekend in Charlotte.
The Knights head back north 2–0 — marking the first undefeated southern trip since 2020 in the O'Connor Era.
Region 20 play awaits Thursday at Prince George's CC.
