Knights Dominate Second Half to Claim 5-2 Victory

Knights Overcome Own Goal to Claim 5-2 Victory

Essex, MD – The Knights and Hawks engaged in a thrilling women's soccer match that saw the Knights emerge victorious by a score of 5-2.

The first half was a closely contested affair, with both teams creating scoring chances. The Knights started off strong, scoring two goals in the first six minutes. The Knights managed to take a narrow 2-1 lead into the break, thanks to strong performances from Tyetianna Cooper and Mackenzie Celenza.

The second half saw the Knights take control of the game, as they scored three unanswered goals to extend their lead. Cooper continued to be a standout performer, adding two more goals to her tally along with a goal from Avery Lane. Cooper recorded her hat trick with the final goal finding the back of the net as time expired.

However, a bizarre twist occurred when the Knights inadvertently scored into their own net while trying to clear a loose ball out of the box, briefly narrowing the gap. Despite this setback, the Knights were able to maintain their composure and secure the victory.

This was an exciting and competitive match that showcased the talent of both teams. The Knights will be looking to build on this momentum as they head into the remainder of the season.

At the end of the game, we had a chance to interview Tyetianna Cooper and she mentioned that her pre-game routine consists of watching a lot of film and that it gets her going as well as eating & listening to music.

This win reflects the hard work and dedication of the CCBC Essex Women's Soccer team, who continue to build momentum as the season progresses. With a combination of solid defense, creative midfield play, and strong finishing, the Knights proved they are a force to be reckoned with in their conference.
