Bio
Zopp returns to the CCBC Essex Knights coaching staff for the 2015 season after eight years. He previously served as an assistant coach at CCBC Essex (2001-2007), when the program appeared in six NJCAA national championship games and captured the 2004 NJCAA National Championship with a perfect 19-0 record.
Prior to rejoining the Knights, Zopp was head coach of the CCBC Catonsville men’s lacrosse (2012-2014). He led the Cardinals to a 22-25 in three seasons, including a trip to the 2012 NJCAA Region XX semi-finals.
Zopp was the head lacrosse coach at Baltimore Lutheran School prior to taking the reins at CCBC Catonsville. At Baltimore Lutheran he compiled a 44-7 record over three years, while also capturing three consecutive MIAA "C" Conference championships. His accomplishments while at Lutheran also included a perfect 16-0 record in 2011.
In addition to his high school and college coaching background, Zopp has also coached at the club level with the Chesapeake Rock and served as a coach of the Maryland Prep team at the Brine National Lacrosse Classic, winning the National Title in 2010 and earning a trip to Florida to participate in the 2011 Brogden Cup.
Zopp is an alumnus of the CCBC Essex lacrosse program and finished his playing career in 1995. He also played collegiately at Division III Greensboro College (N.C.) where he finished his career as the seventh all-time leading scorer in school history.
Zopp is a Baltimore City School teacher by day and resides in Middle River, Md. with his daughter, Jordan Rose, his son, Evan, and Border Collie Higgins.
When Zopp is not coaching or playing lacrosse, he enjoys spending time with Evan and Jordan. He is an avid golfer in his spare time and also enjoys boating.
