Knights Take Game 1 of Region 20 Doubleheader Over Montgomery College

April 21, 2026 – Rosedale, MD

CCBC Essex opened Region 20 doubleheader play with a strong 5-3 win over Montgomery College on Tuesday at home.

Montgomery College struck first in the opening inning, capitalizing on a base hit and a defensive miscue to take an early 2-0 lead. The Knights settled in from there, locking things down defensively and waiting for their opportunity to respond.

That moment came in the bottom of the fourth. Laurin Guerra Guzman (So., Santo Domingo, DR) delivered the big swing of the game, ripping a two-run triple to flip the momentum. Moments later, Michael Amadio (So., Lusby, MD) brought him home with a productive groundout to give CCBC Essex a 3-2 lead.

The Knights continued to build from there, doing just enough offensively while leaning on a dominant performance from Casey Parsons (So., Salisbury, MD) on the mound. Parsons went the distance, tossing a complete game while allowing just three runs—none earned—on five hits.

He struck out seven and did not issue a walk, controlling the tempo all afternoon.

At the plate, Manuel Agostini (Fr., Toa Baja, PR) set the tone with a multi-hit performance, going 2-for-3, while Guerra Guzman led the team with two RBIs.

CCBC Essex finished with six hits and played clean baseball behind Parsons, limiting Montgomery College's opportunities and securing the Region 20 victory.
