Knights Suffer First Region Loss of April, Look to Respond Quickly

April 14, 2026 – Cumberland, MD

CCBC Essex saw its strong run through April slowed on Tuesday, falling 11-3 to Allegany College of Maryland in Region 20 action.

The loss marks the Knights' first region setback of the month, as they now sit at 17-2 in Region 20 play, remaining firmly in contention atop the standings.

Allegany took control early, using a four-run second inning to build momentum. Abram opened the scoring with an RBI double, before Psoras delivered a two-run single and Kanegae followed with another RBI base hit to cap the inning.

CCBC Essex struggled to recover from the early deficit, as Allegany continued to apply pressure offensively. The home team finished with 13 hits and showed patience at the plate, drawing seven walks and consistently putting runners in scoring position.

Yadier Henriquez Lopez (So., Harrisburg, PA) got the start for the Knights and took the loss, working three innings while allowing five runs (four earned) on five hits, with three strikeouts and two walks.

Offensively, Connor Bailey (So., Salisbury, MD) provided a bright spot, going a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate. Casey Parsons (So., Salisbury, MD) and Logan Eisemann (Fr., Bishopville, MD) each drove in a run, while Andy Martínez Rivera (Fr., Vega Alta, PR) added energy on the bases with two stolen bags.

Allegany starter Roach earned the win, going 4.1 innings while allowing three runs and striking out six.

Despite the result, the Knights will have little time to dwell on the loss.
