CCBC Essex put together a complete performance on Monday, defeating Cecil College 9-0 at home behind a dominant effort on the mound from three Knights pitchers.

The trio of Casey Parsons (So., Salisbury, MD)Zacchaeus Artry (Fr., Memphis, TN), and Jack Chase (So., Clifton, VA) combined for the shutout, limiting Cecil to just three hits on the day. Artry sealed the victory, inducing a pop out to end the game and cap off the staff's strong showing.

Parsons set the tone early, delivering a commanding start. The right-hander tossed seven scoreless innings, allowing just three hits while striking out eight and walking three.

The Knights wasted no time getting on the board in the first inning. Connor Bailey (So., Salisbury, MD) lined a single to left to drive in a run, and Michael Amadio (So., Lusby, MD) added another with a well-executed sacrifice bunt.

CCBC Essex extended the lead in the second when Diego Garcia (So., Bradenton, FL) launched a two-run home run to left field.

The offense continued to roll in the third inning, as Gabriel Vargas (So., Cidra, PR) doubled to bring in a pair, followed by an RBI single from Manuel Agostini (Fr., Toa Baja, PR) that pushed the lead further.

At the plate, the Knights collected 13 hits, with Yahil Diaz (Fr., Carolina, PR) leading the way with a 3-for-4 performance. Vargas, Agostini, and Garcia each drove in two runs. The Knights also applied pressure on the bases, swiping four bags.

Defensively, CCBC Essex was flawless, committing no errors. Vargas led the way behind the plate with six defensive chances.
