CCBC Essex Falls to Harford, Winning Streak Snapped

March 28, 2026Bel Air, MD

CCBC Essex saw its winning streak come to an end on Saturday, falling to Harford Community College, 11-1, in the opening game of a round-robin at Harford.

The Knights, now 12-3 overall, ran into a strong Harford club that capitalized early and never looked back.

Harford opened the scoring in the first inning, taking advantage of a defensive miscue to plate the game's first run. The Fighting Owls added to their lead in the second, using a groundout by Keefer and an RBI single from Reyes to extend the advantage.

CCBC Essex had difficulty generating consistent offense against Harford starter Christine, who was sharp throughout. The right-hander allowed just three hits and one run over six innings while striking out 11.

The Knights' lone run came off the bat of Gabriel Vargas (So., Cidra, PR), who drove in a run and finished 1-for-2 on the day. Manuel Agostini (Fr., Toa Baja, PR) and Casey Parsons (So., Salisbury, MD) each added a hit as Essex totaled three on the afternoon.

On the mound, Yadier Henriquez Lopez (So., Harrisburg, PA) took the loss, going three innings and allowing four runs (three earned).

Despite the result, the Knights showed defensive flashes, turning two double plays in the game.

Harford broke things open in the sixth inning, scoring five runs on four hits, highlighted by a three-run double from Kehoe.

The Fighting Owls finished with 12 hits on the day, with Noone, Fitzpatrick, and Reyes each collecting multiple hits.

While the result snapped CCBC Essex's recent momentum, the Knights will have a quick turnaround opportunity to respond.
