Brian Stewart serves as the head coach of the CCBC Essex Knights men’s lacrosse program, bringing more than 16 years of coaching experience at the high school, preparatory, and collegiate levels, including 14 years as a head coach.

Coach Stewart’s tenure at Essex follows a successful coaching career that includes leading the University of Mount Union for nine seasons (2013–2022), where he developed and guided a competitive NCAA Division III program. He also served as head coach at the Naval Academy Preparatory School (2006–2011), as well as at Northeast High School and North County High School. In addition, he spent time as an assistant coach at NCAA Division II Limestone University.

A former naval officer, Stewart has built a career centered on leadership, discipline, and player development at every stop. He attended CCBC Catonsville, where he played under NJCAA Hall of Fame Coach Dave Mintzer. He later played at and graduated from Limestone University. He holds a Master of Education from the University of Mount Union, earned in 2022, and currently teaches health at Northeast High School.
