Baseball: Knights Release 2018 Schedule

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD -- CCBC Essex Knights baseball today released its 2018 schedule, which will begin with five games in North Carolina March 2-4. Head coach Mike Carter enters his eighth season and will look to guide the Knights back to an NJCAA Region XX Division II title. 

Home
The Knights open its home slate on March 6 against Maryland JUCO Conference foe Prince George's and return back to CCBC Essex Field on March 15 to take on University of Connecticu at Averypoint. Both games are 3 p.m. first pitches. 

The following weekend, CCBC Essex will play four games in two days, beginning with a double header against Lehigh Carbon Community College (Schnecksville, Pa.) on March 17 and another against Orange County Community College (Middletown, N.Y.) on March 18.

On March 22, the Knights renew one of its intracampus rivalries as they welcome CCBC Catonsville.

That weekend will see another set of back-to-back double headers with Erie Community College (Williamsville, N.Y.) on March 24 and Chesapeake College on March 25.

Essex closes out its home schedule for the month on March 28 against Camden County College (Blackwood, N.J.).

The Lions of CCBC Dundalk come to Essex on April 3, which begins a slew of conference home games. 

On April 5, the Knights host Anne Arundel Community College and two days later return home to host a twin bill against Allegany College of Maryland.

Cecil College comes to town on April 12 and Stevenson University's JV visits for a rare Monday double header on April 16. 

Harford Community College comes down to Essex on April 19 and College of Southern Maryland heads up for two on April 21. 

On April 22, Rowan College at Burlington County (Pemberton, N.J.) will be at Essex for an afternoon double header.

The Knights close its home schedule closes on April 28 with two against Hagerstown Community College.

Away
After the North Carolina trip, the Knights next road game is March 8 at Anne Arundel, then two at Montgomery College on March 10.

On March 12, Essex travels for two against Stevenson JV, followed by a single game with CCBC Dundalk the next day.

The Seahawks host the Knights at Cecil College on March 20.

In the team's second long road trip of the season, the Knights will play Paul D. Camp Community College (Virginia Beach, Va.) in four games March 30 and 31. 

April sees the Knights head to Bel Air, MD on April 2 for one with Harford and two against Delaware Technical Community College (Georgetown, Del.) on April 8.

The Owls of Prince George's host Essex on April 10 and Garrett College welcomes the Knights for two on April 14.

It's over to the west side of Baltimore County on April 17 for one with CCBC Catonsville and the Knights final road trip is April 27 at Frederick Community College for a double header.

Postseason
The 2018 NJCAA Region XX Division II Tournament will be hosted by CCBC Catonsville and run May 11-13. Game times will be announced no later than the week of the tournament.
